University of Ottawa Art Contest
I entered a University of Ottawa Art competition
for this year's Christmas card. The theme was innovation.
This painting "Explore" won. Exploration is all over innovation.
Acrylic on board 4/5"x4/5". Whoo-hoo!

"Love fills my lungs" & "Laugh with me and my heart will sing"
These two commissions hang together and were wonderful to paint. I was definately in my happy place creating these. They are full of texture and yumminess. They measure 4'x4'. Twas' easy speaking from my creative heart while working. My first completely abstract commission (that I can remember). A direction of expression I would like to explore further.

Me and me bike...
My bike & me today:
Saw: My hubby, great trees to string a hammock between, the houses of parliment, people walking, talking and having fun! Kids on a field trip, Canada geese, pigeons, red wing black bird, a duck catching a fish and eating it, peonies & poppies, beautiful willow trees, water, houses, the view from the wind catch on my helmet, bridge builders, window washers, people reading, where I live.
Smelled: The last drips of perfume from lilacs carried by the wind, the crunch of my tire over those helecopter thingys that fall from trees (Oh wait, I did not smell that, I heard that...I love that sound), someone's perfume, fresh cut grass, rushing water, cool rocks, my sunscreen.
Felt: The wind, the heat, freedom and the big huge smile plastered on my face...a very good day with me bike! Thank you universe:-)

broke the ice!
It's been a while since I have painted without any intended direction. I sat down at my easel and tried to empty my mind of any expectations. This is what happend...not sure if it is finished, will have a look at it tomorrow. The paint was still wet when I took this picture. Felt really good to just muck about. SOLD

Mocha Badness
I loved creating this painting!
Commissioned by a customer to capture the spirit of their wonderful dog. One can assume that by the nickname "Mocha Badness", there was never a dull moment in that household! We wanted to capture Mocha's curiosity as well as her sweet, loving personality. There are hidden messages and personal touches throughout this painting. It measures 36" x 36" on gallery wrapped canvas.

Yes Art Expo
The Yes Art Expo at the Museum Just for Laughs was no joke! It was a fabulous success and I was thrilled to be a part of such a talented, diverse group of artists. Thank you to all who attended. After all, without those to look, listen, and inquire, we are just a bunch of artists in our studios creating alone...

"Crayons to Canvas", turn your kid's artwork into fabulous paintings! Here are the two of the lastest paintings from the Crayons to Canvas service.
Wondering what to do with all of your kid's artwork that is stored away in boxes? I will create a painting, any size, with your child's drawings and paintings. Here is how it works: I photocopy the origionals, make a collage of their work, add my own creative twist with paint and words, and voila...a magical painting suitable for any decor.
